Besides you? π
Difficult .. can i cheat and just put my top 2 songs? π they arn’t from 5 years. i can like stuff that has been released decades ago and gets into my head.
(such as recently, because i have seen phantom of the opera, i keep singing ‘angel of music’ :p)
Top 2 (and they have been favourites for a while now)
1 – Don’t fear the reaper (blue oyster cult)
2 – Wolf Moon (type O Negative)
However the songs i keep putting on replay today are.
Blood Brothers – Iron Maiden
Hide & Seek – Amuro Namie
Closer to the Edge – 30 seconds to mars.
Tomorrow I will prolly be replaying others π
hmm.. I`m going to have to “agree” with you Paula… My taste in music nay be different from yours however it was the “thought” you put behind this one.. because its not so different from what i was thinking.. Hi, how are you doing Mark Hildreth.
I dunno if I believe Daryl Hall And John Oats had a song called “I can`t Go for that”…
I thought the music of the song was really innovative… Lot of folk don`t really care about Hall and Oats.
I believe what sets a person apart from others is taking a chance on “believability”…
and this is the same thing with you Mark.. i believe that you are good however you have to believe it yourself… Good Morning… or good night… it depends on which State or Province you “reside” in….
Aside from you, Mark, I’m always a big Hanson fan (they played the House of Blues here in Boston on the 9th and it was fantastic). I also love Brandi Carlisle. I don’t know if you’ve heard of Street Corner Symphony (runner up from season 2 of The Sing-Off) but they’re another of my favorites. You have to respect musicians who can make music with just their voices.
you can be the greatest singer in the world if you don`t believe in it its not going anywhere….
I adore your music of course and you are definitely in my top favorites for the past 5 years. π
I have been a Beatles (and the solo careers of the Beatles) nut for as long as I can remember. They’ll never get old. Other than that, bands and artists that I have really come to love over the past five years have been Green Day, Breaking Benjamin, Yann Tiersen, Lacuna Coil, Helloween, Nightwish, and Eluveitie. It’s hard to choose a favorite, but Eluveitie has been the most influential on my musicianship. They are a folk metal band and I have never heard anyone play the flute or tin whistles like Chrigel Glasman, PΓ€de Kistler, and Sevan Kirder can so well alongside the sound of a guitar blasting. <3 I have learned a lot of their songs by ear and my flute and whistle playing has improved immensely.
p.s. I've learned quite a few of your songs by ear, too, Mark. π They're a lot of fun to play along to.
Okay, besides you Mark, my nephew turned me on to King which is a neo-soul trio of sisters/cousins. They have a song on called The Story which is really nice. I’m also into Kirtan so I’m really enjoying As Kindred Spirits with Gauravani at the lead. Yes, he’s a personal friend of mine, but his music is really awesome(I love Ayodya Vasi Ram and Jiv Jago) and the Mayapuris (Mridanga is killer, they are amazing drummers) who hail from Alachua, Florida. I’m also a fan of Janelle Monae and I still love Sting. I bought a winter season album of his which is so awesome that I play it constantly from the end of November all the way through to like March since all the songs aren’t “Christmas” songs but rather songs of the winter season. My boy’s favorite is Soul Cake. So that’s where I am at present musically.
J’aime beaucoup ce que fait ADELE.
“Someone like you” est sublime et son clip tournΓ© Γ PARIS est magnifique.
hmm interesting, but lately i’m going back to latinamerican singers.. XD
Mercedes Sosa (“La Negra”)
Los Jaivas
Specially in times “of need” π
Greetings to all!
Very talented group boyce avenue wow.. when i first heard these guys the drummer actually plays the drums with his hands… wow
Well glad to see everyone is “smiling” Very good…
And with all of these “smiles” this means that you all must be doing pretty good. Very good.. Are you doing well Mark hildreth? HAVE A “NICE” NIGHT.
The last 5 years? Mh, my “alltime favourite” is “Poems for Laila” a group from Germany, Berlin. I like them for almost 21 years π
I am BIG into the White Stripes and pretty much anything Jack White gas a hand in. I also really dig Weezer. I have a thing for guitar players π
opps I`ve spammed… So can I create a alias Mark and spam with that it would seem others are doing it? And “smiling” at the same time.. For the past 5 years who are “you” liking mark… Have a nice day…
Hmmm, besides you?
My musical constants are: Harry Connick Jr, George Strait, Jane Monheit… I tend towards country and jazz but I can listen to anything.
Actually, for the past five years or so I have been more on a country kick so it’s hard to say. I would say that for the past year my favorite has been Lady Antebellum. The past five years can easily be comprised of the following top five in me (not necessarily in any order): (1) Lady Antebellum (2) Keith Urban (3) Brad Paisley (4) Sugarland (5) Nickelback
I’ve been listening to a lot of different music especially from groups like Black Eyed Peas, Josh Groban, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Coldplay, and The Fray. My favorite artist right now from the past five years would have to be Adele. Her music is just so different and her voice is very unique.
I watch a lot of Asian dramas so I’m really into the artists who do the music for them like Hu Ge, Nicholas Tse, Fahrenheit, S.H.E., Tank, Anson Hu, etc.
I also like to listen to my bff Chris sing. He’s really good! He does a lot of parodies & some covers. Go check him out.
