Where do you buy?

Just an update: we finished most of the work on the first 5 songs on my new record. They sound fantastic.

Where do you guys go to listen to music? What are your favorite places to buy and/or get new music from??

Mark.

  1. that is great mark that the new music for your new album is coming along…normally i buy music from amazon.com…borders.com or barnes and noble…and itunes…depending on the availability of the album…never bought from cd baby…but will definitely buy your new album…

  2. i use i-tunes if i only want to purchase certain songs or amazon for albums -however i found cd baby to be fantastic – and absolutely hilarious. this is their “confirmation e-mail” they send out – priceless!

Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.
A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure it was in the best possible condition before mailing.

We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of Portland waved “Bon Voyage!” to your package, on its way to you, in our private CD Baby jet on this day, May 27, 2010.

  3. it reminds me how I couldn’t make the ipad working with i-tunes 🙂
what I’m trying to say is: try itunes, they seem to be popular

  4. Napster for me! Love their subscription service.

Looking forward to hearing your new sound.

  5. I buy from amazon and itunes.
Whats the album going to be called or not decided yet or have i missed that being said?:)

@raven – i am so going to that site to see what they have on my next purchase ^^

  6. Yep, amazon and i-tunes. I like to mix my own playlist, so actual pre-mixed cds rarely work for me.

  7. I have to download everything i want (and i fill guilty about it but i don’t have any other choice), because where i live we can’t order CD/DVDs from online music stores (it’s forbidden! it’s so stupid that it’s hard to believe), and there are no music store that sells original and/or new stuff : (

  8. I’ve used itunes for some of my purchases when I can’t find music I’ve been looking for.
I prefer record/cd stores the most. I guess I’m a little old fashioned. I have a very vast collection of music totalling more than 2300 cd’s (and still growing). I have lots of digital music as well, but I still prefer the cd because you get interesting liner notes, lyrics, photos and artwork for the price you pay.
i get friends to e-mail me songs that I don’t have in my collection.
I’ve even found free downloads available on certain sites.
Most of my collection consists of dance related music but contains enough independent music to open my own section in a record store.
Some of my favourite music right now is coming from Kelis, Mark Ronson & The Business Intl, Scissor Sisters, Karen O, Vampire Weekend, Christina Aguilera, Heather Morris, Michael Buble, La Roux, Lady Gaga and of course Mark Hildreth.
If you haven’t recorded the entire album yet please include something upbeat for me to clean my apartment to. You’ve got the voice of a crooner and I need some serious ear action going on when I’m straightening up.
Can’t wait for the new tunes.
